Dr Igor Banzic

Vascular Surgeon

MD PhD, MBBS (Bgd), FEBVS, FRACS

Dr Igor Banzic is a Fellow of the European Board of Vascular Surgery (FEBVS) and a Fellow of Royal Australian College of Surgeons (FRACS). He has 17 years’ experience in vascular surgery. He completed three postgraduate fellowships and trained in some of the best hospitals in the world.

  • Fellowship in complete thoracoabdominal aorta replacement using extracorporal circulation at Memorial Hermann Hospital, Heart and Vascular Institute (Houston, Texas USA), and University Clinic for Cardiovascular Surgery Zurich (Zurich, Switzerland)
  • Fellowship in advanced endovascular procedures of aortic arch and thoracoabdominal aorta, at Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland, Ohio USA), Mayo Clinic in Rochester (Minnesota, USA), University of Pittsburgh, Physicians Division of Vascular Surgery (Pennsylvania, USA)
  • Felowship in Kidney Transplantation at Royal North Shore Hospital (Sydney, Australia)

Dr Banzic can offer endovascular and open repair management of all vascular conditions. He has extensive experience in complex open and endovascular vascular reconstructions on thoracoabdominal aorta, aortic arch, and main visceral arteries. He has special interest in thoracoabdominal aortic surgery, advanced less invasive endovascular procedures, and complete venous pathology.

Igor Banzic has an extensive academic work of more than 50 publications in high impact factor vascular journals, in possession of a Vascular Surgery PhD thesis, and appears as an invited lecturer on more than 50  international vascular meetings and conferences.

Igor is a very positive person and full of life. He is a pilot and enjoys flying as much as in vascular surgery. He is a passionate traveller and very close to completing the list of all 193 visited UN countries. He can talk for hours about piloting airplanes, traveling and scuba-diving as his third passion.

He is a husband and father of two little girls.
